work.place.create. worked in partnership with the award-winning creative advertising agency AML on their project to relocate their office from the heart of Clerkenwell to the Tea Building in Shoreditch. The client brief was clear in that their new workplace had to convey a completely new image of their expanding business. AML’s new working environment had to respond to ever-changing demands and a need to work better in project groups. The scheme also had to deliver sufficient flexibility for expansion in the future. A further key aim was to install a diverse range of collaborative work settings for use by different creative and project teams.

work.place.create. delivered an industrial style interior with key finishes selected to be in keeping with the aesthetic of the Tea Building and Shoreditch location. Long-linear bench desking was installed across the floor to allow large groups of creatives to work collaboratively with one another. Different zones, with contrasting furniture types, were also dispersed between the desking to create dedicated locations for different types of work. In order to meet the brief our final design had to be both creative and fun. The end-product has been well received by both employees and clients. work.place.create. have also revisited the site three times to help AML to execute minor localised changes to the workplace in order to accommodate specific changes to the type and nature of the work that they undertake.
