Assembly Rooms

The site of this project in Putney, London was a combination of protected historic façade to the front and new architectural façades and upper floor extensions to the rear. The site wrapped round and over an existing retail tenant on the ground floor. A new entrance to the property had been created along Werter Road, with a new core staircase and unfinished lift shaft internally. The space was left in an unfinished shell and core state with a change in contractors leading to work.place.create. being invited to assist in the design and delivery of a modern, attractive CAT A office accommodation with potential retail space on the ground floor.

The project was complex in its nature due to discoveries on site as is part of uncovering old structures and the uneven fabric of the original walls, no part of the building was the same. work.place.create. also had to work with a changing interior scheme design being undertaken by the client for the core parts of the building – reception, wc’s and basement end of trip facilities including showers, cycle parking and gym.
